According to Romal Shetty, CEO – Deloitte, South Asia, “Given our world-class expertise in softwareservices, we can easily expand the current scope with AI; skill development and reskilling key”.
“India can reach $1 Trillion in services exports by 2030 fuelled significantly by AI”.
In a recent report, IMF predicted that almost 40% of jobs globally could be affected by AI. A lack of infrastructure and skilled workers could prevent emerging nations from harnessing AI’s benefits and may worsen inequality. India can convert this challenge into an opportunity by skilling the workforce and becoming the AI capital of the world.
AI can positively transform India’s services sector. Given our world-class expertise in software services, we can easily expand the current scope with AI. However, moving from being mere consumers to becoming producers and creators of AI will truly make us competitive and relevant. None of this is possible without improving India’s skill development and reskilling of the existing workforce. Government and industry collaboration could simplify access in high-demand areas.
